About

Our Practice

Pack Pediatrics is proud to serve the Northern Nevada community. While we are a young practice, founded in 2024, we stand on the shoulders of the amazing Dr. Robin White. Dr. White served the Reno community for 40+ years prior to her retirement, and continues to be a mentor and guide to, and an integral part of, our team.

The Pack mentality fosters a supportive and collaborative environment focused on an evidence-based, comprehensive approach to child health, growth, and wellness.
With a family-oriented ethos, we embrace the understanding that it truly takes a village—what we affectionately refer to as a pack.

All are welcome

We welcome patients and families from all backgrounds. We respect all different types of families and cultures. The health and wellness of a child should not be hindered by race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or family structure. We hope to support our patients and their families who may face challenges based on these differences.

Dr. Shawnice Kraeber

MD, FAAP

Dr. Kraeber is a proud Nevada native. Born and raised in Reno/Sparks, she graduated from Reed High, UNR, and UNR Medical School, and then completed her pediatrics residency in Oakland, CA. After residency, she was chosen to be the Chief Resident and had the opportunity to teach and to work in various settings including the NICU, newborn nursery, pediatric clinic, and on the pediatric ward, all in a busy referral center that cared for a diverse patient population – diverse in culture, ethnicity, socioeconomic and health problems. She has since continued her work in Oakland, and has added time as a pediatric hospitalist at Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center in their NICU and newborn nursery. Dr. Kraeber is board certified in Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is so excited to move her full-time care to her home community. Her medical interests include preventive care, nutrition, asthma management, teen care, and teaching. When not doctoring, she spends most of her time with her partner in life and their crazy pup, and she enjoys her time at the gym, reading, playing board games, traveling, attending live music events, and camping. Be sure to tell her about whatever book you’re reading at your next visit!

Dr. Debbie Vydra

DO, FAAP

Dr. Vydra was born and raised in Fresno, CA where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry at Fresno State University in 2013 (Go Dogs!). She has a heart for serving the underserved and found herself in Mississippi where she completed her Masters in Biomedical Sciences prior to earning her medical degree at William Carey University COM in 2018. It was there that she met her husband who also graduated from the same medical school. Dr. Vydra completed her pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio in 2021. She briefly worked in Jacksonville, FL as a General Pediatrician while her husband was finishing his fellowship in Interventional Pain. She found herself missing the West Coast and convinced her whole family to move out to Reno, NV to be closer to family. Dr. Vydra is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is Board Certified in General Pediatrics. During her free time, she enjoys traveling internationally with her family, spending time exploring Reno, and trying out the new/local food scene. She has two little kids, and a goldendoodle-lab mix named Mochi who keep all of them busy!

Dr. Kristi MacLeod

MD

Dr. MacLeod (Kristi) is a graduate of Tufts Medical School in Boston, completing her pediatric residency and child abuse fellowship training at UC Davis Medical Center. After almost 20 years practicing as a pediatric subspecialist, she has come back to her roots in General Pediatrics. She is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and loves helping families through the joys and challenges of growth and development. She and her husband, orthopedic surgeon, Peter Althausen, have raised their three young adult children in the Reno area. “I would say that raising our children has taught me more about parenting and pediatrics than any school or book could ever do. Raising kids is the hardest and yet most rewarding job you could ever have. Working with children, adolescents and caregivers gives me positive energy and great hope for our future.” In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, studying foreign languages and engaging in just about every outdoor activity that our gorgeous Reno-Tahoe area has to offer.
